Organisation

Public authorities

The conduct of the Hume & Hovell  Ultra is dependent on the cooperation of a number of public authorities including Department of Industry/Lands,  Forestry Corporation, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Police, Snowy Valley’s Council,  NSW National Parks and Wildlife and Wagga Amateur Radio Club.  Event organisers are grateful to these organisations for their cooperation.

In order to gain their approval, a number of their requirements have been incorporated in the Rules for the Hume & Hovell Ultra. All runners and their support crews must abide by the Rules of the Hume & Hovell Ultra as specified in the Runners Manual and must obey any lawful directions given by authorised members of the above organisations.

Race Organisation

This race relies on the support of and adherence to guidelines specified by the Public Authorities. The  Event Organisers and Event Director, Jordan Maki-Richards, can be contacted with any concerns or questions regarding the organisation of Hume & Hovell Ultra prior to and during the course of the event.

Volunteers

Volunteers are the greatest asset of the Hume and Hovell Ultra. The success of this event is dependent on the help of many community groups and volunteers. Volunteers must be treated with respect at all times. Give them a wave, smile and thank them you have the opportunity – they are sacrificing their time to support your hobby!

International Organisations

This race is AUTRA (Australian Ultra Trail Running Association) sanctioned.

The organisers are currently seeking IAU, ITRA and UTMB certification and the web site will be updated when these certifications have been received.
